Make Scripts for The Handy

Overview

The Handy is a stroker that follows a funscript in sync with a video. ScriptCompiler is a free funscript editor that runs in your browser. You can make a script for The Handy, feel it on the device while you edit, and export it for any Handy player.

What You Need

• The Handy, turned on and online over Wi-Fi
• Your Handy connection key, from The Handy's own app or setup page
• A video and a browser. Nothing to install.

Connect The Handy

1. Click Connect Device in the top bar
2. In the Internet Devices card, set Device Type to The Handy
3. Paste your connection key into Connection ID
4. Click Connect and wait until the status says Connected

ScriptCompiler remembers your key and connects again the next time you open the editor.

Play a Script on The Handy

1. Load a video and a script, or start a new script
2. Set the execution mode in the timeline header to Device, or Both to also see the emulator
3. Press Play. The Handy follows the script in sync with the video.

The whole script is sent to The Handy first. After that, only play, pause and seek go over the internet, so playback stays smooth. When you change the script, a Resync button shows in the timeline header. Click it to send the new version. It reads Synced when The Handy has the latest script.

Feel It While You Draw

In Drawing Mode, turn on Stream to device while drawing. The Handy moves with your mouse as you draw, so you feel a stroke before you keep it. This live mode works with The Handy only.

Handy Speed Limits

Every stroker has a top speed. When a script asks for more, the device skips or cuts strokes short. The Speed Limiter has presets for each Handy model:

One unit is one step of the 0 to 100 position range, and 0 to 100 is always the full stroke. The Handy 2 is not slower. Its stroke is longer, 125 mm, so a full stroke takes more time at the same motor speed. Pick your model, run the tool, and every stroke that is too fast is made shorter so The Handy can finish it on time.

The Handy Control Panel

When The Handy is connected, The Handy Control panel lets you move it by hand without a script:

• Oscillation Control: set a speed in percent and a min and max range, then let it stroke
• Position Control: move it to one position
• Stop All: stop every movement at once

Export Your Script

Save your work as a .funscript file. Give it the same name as the video, for example scene.mp4 and scene.funscript. Most Handy players then load it on their own. See Exporting Scripts.
