Overview
Speed Limiter shortens strokes that move faster than a device can follow. Devices have a top speed. Ask for more and they lag, skip, or stall. Pick your device and the tool uses its safe top speed. Or choose Custom and set the limit yourself.
How It Works
- The selected points are walked in time order.
- For each point, the tool checks how far it moves from the point before it and how much time it has.
- If the move is faster than the limit, the point is pulled closer to the one before it until the move fits.
- The next point is checked against the point that was just fixed.
Timing never changes. Only positions do.
Parameters
| Parameter | Range | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Device | Custom, Handy, Handy 2, Handy 2 Pro, Handy 2 Pro Overclock, Keon, Autoblow Ultra | The device the script will play on. Its safe top speed is used. Custom shows Max Speed. |
| Max Speed | 50 to 1000 units per second | Fastest allowed move. Only used with Custom. A full 0 to 100 stroke in 250 ms is 400. |
Device Speeds
Speeds are in position units per second. 100 units is one full stroke. The numbers assume the device is set to its full stroke length.
| Device | Top speed | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Handy | 400 | The maker caps the firmware at 400 mm/s over a 100 mm stroke. |
| Handy 2 | 320 | The same 400 mm/s cap over the longer 125 mm stroke. |
| Handy 2 Pro | 360 | 450 mm/s cap over 125 mm. |
| Handy 2 Pro Overclock | 640 | 800 mm/s with the safety limit turned off in the Handy app. |
| Keon | 350 | Owner reports range from 230 to 520. This is the middle. |
| Autoblow Ultra | 400 | Community measurement. The maker lists 220 strokes per minute. |
Use Cases
A Script for Your Device
You made or downloaded a script and want it to play right on your device. Select all, pick the device, apply.
Generated Patterns
A pattern came out too fast. Limit it instead of redoing it.
Tracking Output
Tracking sometimes jumps. The limiter turns a wild jump into a move the device can make.
